Direct Reports: CFO, CMO/Director of Operations, Director of HR, Director of Population Health & Quality, Executive Assistant

People Management: Oversight of all departments, administrative staff, and employees.

Status: Full Time/Exempt   

Job Summary: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cedar Point Health is the senior most executive responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational excellence, financial performance, and clinical quality of the organization.  This position is responsible for directing the organization's long-term plans to carry out goals and objectives that accurately reflect the business’s values and mission statement as decided on by the Board of Directors. The CEO will work closely with the leadership team to encompass strategic vision into operational execution to ensure the company runs smoothly, meets performance goals, and scales effectively.

Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Direct and supervise day-to-day operations of the business.

  • Mentor direct reports to ensure effective execution of business strategies and operational plans.

  • Coordinate, manage and direct the business in accordance with the policies and procedures implemented by the governing board.

  • Supervise overall performance of all departments and administrative staff.

  • Demonstrate collaborative and effective management techniques on a day-to-day basis.

  • Direct and evaluate upper management by tracking their performance through coaching, KPI’s, goal setting and bonus evaluations.

  • Ensure all KPI measures align with company goals.

Team Management

  • Assist in building, leading and mentoring high-performing teams.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continued improvement.

  • Ensure clear and transparent communication and alignment across departments through strategic committee meetings, leadership updates, and all staff meetings.

Strategic Execution

  • Strong decision making skills while promoting teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement across all departments.

  • Assist in creating a collaborative team dynamic with leadership members while supporting each department’s goals with a unified vision.

  • Provide consistent reporting to the Board of Directors, along with leadership team.

  • Ensure ongoing financial health of the organization.

  • Own all financial transaction decisions, negotiations and contract agreements made on behalf of the company.

  • Represent CPH and it’s values in its relationships with the surrounding communities.

Financial Oversight

  • Partner with CFO to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to ensure the health of the organization with future-minded needs.

  • Assist CFO with vendor management, procurement and costs optimization efforts.

  • Evaluate existing compensation and bonus structures with HR Director on a regular basis.

  • Support each leadership team member with biannual bonus structure payouts and goal setting.

In Partnership with Leadership Team

  • Lead the Executive Leadership Team through weekly meetings, committee meeting attendance, all staff presentations and leadership updates.

  • Support each leadership team member in managing assigned department, policy changes, problem solving and priority management.

  • Assist with meaningful reporting and aligned goals with Board of Directors

  • Share weekend on-call responsibilities on a rotating schedule for urgent care clinics.

Job requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CEO in the healthcare field, experience in private primary healthcare a plus.

  • Knowledge of physician practice management, financial management, revenue cycle, health insurance negotiating and contracting, marketing and billing.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively and clearly communicate with people of diverse backgrounds.

  • Knowledge of clinic financial and budgetary practices to oversee annual budget, analyze financial data and patterns, and prepare financial statements.

  • Understanding of the competitive managed care marketplace and the integrated healthcare delivery network, governmental and health care fiscal regulations and reporting requirements.  

  • Skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve objectives.

  • Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, bookkeeping software, EMR’s and appropriate practice management software.

Education: Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related healthcare field (i.e. MHA, MBA, MPH)

Experience: 10+ years of experience in medical and/or clinical leadership roles

Mental and Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with an office position that involves standing, sitting, reaching, manual dexterity to operate office machines, stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. May work at computer monitors for prolonged periods with danger of eye strain and muscle pain.

Other Requirements: Commuting to other locations may be required.  The CEO is expected to work in person at the administrative offices five days per week, hybrid work available after 6 months employment.

Conditions: The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, applicants, insurance companies, and other members of the public on a regular basis. Due to the nature of the business, the position may come across communicable diseases and other conditions common in a clinical environment.

Compensation:  $175k-$225k (additionally profitability bonus potential)
