Job description

Cedar Point Health is looking for an experience Clinical Psychiatrist to join our team, either in Cedaredge or Montrose, Colorado. The Clinical Psychiatrist is a mental health professional in charge of performing psychoanalysis to diagnose mental illness and provide treatment for mental and behavioral issues. Cedar Point Health is an outpatient primary care provider on the western slope. This is a salaried exempt position. The range listed includes maximum semi-annual bonus potential and is dependent on licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients to diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including medication management and therapy.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
  • Provide acute emergency intervention in the clinic.
  • Provide ongoing care and monitoring of patients’ mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with other CPH health care professionals, such as primary care providers, physical therapists, psychologists and social workers to provide comprehensive care.
  • Review relevant literature, synthesize evidence-based materials, and translate complex behavioral health concepts.
  • Meet requirements of third-party payers through billing procedures.
  • Help in the development of integrated behavioral health at CPH.
  • Ensure clinical practice, quality and consistency of service is maintained and improved across all areas of delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across CPH.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, adheres to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Prescribe medication and monitor effectiveness.
  • Provide education and training on medications and therapy recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

  • Active, clean license and DEA to practice in Colorado
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry or taking Psychiatry Boards in 2024-2025, subspecialties encouraged
  • Training/experience as a clinical psychiatrist
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply CPH guidelines and procedures.
  • A proactive approach with a strong work ethic and desire to participate in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care for patients with mental health issues.
  • A commitment to high-quality, cost effective health care
  • Willingness to learn and function within CPH EMR system.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships
  • with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Position is required in-person

Education: MD/DO with residency in psychiatry

Experience: 2-5 years of patient treatment in a clinical setting.

Mental and Physical Requirements: Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting. This position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Must be able to use a

variety of office equipment. May require working under stressful conditions.

Conditions: Normal office and exam room environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies, labs, hospitals, and other members of the public on a regular basis. The

position may cause exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
