Job description

Summary: Assists the Physical Therapist (PT) in patient screenings, assessments, and evaluations, implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising PT. Communicate patient status changes, upcoming reassessment dates, and other relevant information to support coordinated care. Support a collaborative supervisory process and help maintain a safe, organized clinic environment, including equipment upkeep. Participate in educational, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

*This position will receive structured mentorship and direct access to senior Physical Therapists for career guidance and skill development.  The PTA will have a front row seat to high-level strategy and decision-making in a small clinic setting.  The team is committed to providing growth opportunities to students and early career hires.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specific emphasis on patient populations such as Medicare, Veterans Affairs (VA), and Workers’ Compensation.

  • Guide highly motivated, active adults and older athletes striving to return to meaningful activities such as hiking, golfing, and maintaining independence.

  • Works towards fulfilling Cedar Point Health’s Mission and Values.

  • Performs a variety of therapy procedures on assigned caseload as directed by the PT.

  • Assist the PTs in all aspects of the PT process.

  • Participate in team discussions in an articulate, positive, and productive manner.

  • Maintain assigned equipment in proper working order.

  • Complete all documentation in a timely manner.

  • Maintain proficiency in physical therapy by attending workshops, conferences and training for required license renewal.

  • Represent the Company while participating in community outreach events, activities, meetings, training, etc.

  • Respond to emergency situations in a competent manner.

  • Adhere to PTA licensure requirements.

  • Follow clinic cleaning guidelines.

  • Adhere to established Cedar Point Health’s guidelines.

  • Assist in quality management, research, public relations, and program development projects when appropriate.

  • Carry out all responsibilities professionally and efficiently.

  • Maintains effective communications at all levels; within the work setting and company.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality, adhere to HIPPA guidelines and regulations and perform other duties as assigned to support the Wellness Clinic and patient care.

 

 

Job requirements

Education/Requirements

  • Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination test administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.

  • License or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant with the Colorado Regulation and Licensing Department: Colorado Physical Therapy Board.

  • Graduated from an accredited program through Commission Physical Therapy Assistant Program.

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians, providers, and other staff.

  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

  • Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations.

  • This position is required in-person.

Experience: Preferred individual has at least one year of physical therapy experience. 

Mental and Physical Requirements: Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting.  This position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Must be able to use a variety of office equipment.  May require working under stressful conditions.

Conditions: Normal office and exam room environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies, labs, hospitals and other members of the public on a regular basis. The position may cause exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
